The project is seeking to identify economic quantities of rare earth minerals within the phosphate horizon already quarried at Phosphate hill. Mansfield – Phosphate Hill is primarily phosphate shale with up to 15% phosphate. Previous research and geological studies identified Francolite as a fluorapatite commonly known to be REE bearing. This mineral is present at Phosphate hill. USA examples from Mississippi and Illonois show high values of TREO in Francolite and these occurrences are shaping to be a major source of potential REE in the future . Simplicity of operation including beneficiation of phosphate minerals and simple acid extraction enhances opportunity. Recent research work by Vic Geological Survey due out on in 2024 is expected to support the prospectivity of phosphates for REE in Victoria. Tenement approx. 392km2 Phosphate is also anticipated along the Mansfield fault, and extending to the south (Jamison area) and to the east of the current proposed tenement
