Victoria
Linton project
EL007458
Located approximately 35km west of Ballarat, Victoria in an active modern-day mining district (adjacent to the producing Pittong kaolin mine).
Exploration licence EL007458, held by CNAM (renewal applied for), contains outcropping quartz reefs and the historical Bass & Watson gold-tungsten workings, as well as documented kaolin occurrences.
Initial sampling by CNAM has returned encouraging gold grades up to 10.8 g/t gold, and tungsten up to 4.28% WO₃.
The metal suite and proximity to granite suggests an intrusion-related gold (IRG) style target (possible type examples Wonga deposit at Stawell, or Harcourt aureole at Maldon), and the operating gold mine at Ballarat may represent a future toll treatment option for a gold deposit.
The Pittong mine is owned by Green360 Technologies (ASX: GT3), which produces high-reactivity metakaolin (calcined clay) in conjunction with Calix (ASX: CXL) for use in low-carbon concrete. Zeotech (ASX: ZEO) is pursuing a similar project in Queensland based on export of product to China.
